Differences
As we see, the felidae family is spread all over the world, inhabiting the regions from the African Savannah, Indonesia, Canada, South and Central Americas and even in Eurasia. This vast spread indicates that there are different environmental adaptations that differ each species and genus within the family from the one another and help in their survival of different conditions.
We can compare on the right, the difference in habitat of the cheetah (right) versus that of the lynx (left). The lynx's habitat has caused it to form adaptations, such as smaller size, to be able to pounce from high platforms and jump higher heights to reach better vantage points to attack prey from above. On the other hand, the cheetahs's vast open environment is better suited for its adaptations to run very fast for short distances. As a result, cheetahs attack prey from longer distances and so they have less trees and more flatlands.
